YouTube Music now supports Wear OS watches from three years ago

The Snapdragon Wear 3100 was introduced in 2018, and it was not until last year when it was replaced by the Snapdragon Wear 4100. Being an old processor, some apps could not be installed in watches with it. There are few smartwatches with the Snapdragon Wear 3100Like the Fossil Gen 5 or Moto 360, watches are a couple of years old.

The YouTube Music app can now be installed on watches with Snapdragon Wear 3100 and Wear OS 2. You can download the app directly from the Google Play Store, from the comfort of your watch.

YouTube Music gets closer to older watches

The latest YouTube Music update brings compatibility with Wear OS 2. Last week we already told you that the update would eventually arrive and, from 9to5Google they have been able to verify that watches like the Moto 360 You can now download this application from the Play Store.

When Google announced the availability of YouTube Music on Wear OS 2 devices, it only alluded to watches with the Snapdragon Wear 4100+, commenting that it would be available for more devices “later this year.” Luckily, the app is already being deployed for these old devices.

Wear OS 2 is still alive: not only apps are coming, but it has already been announced that some improvements to Wear OS 3 will progressively arrive

In addition to the arrival of YouTube Music, we have known since August that watches with Wear OS 2 will receive some of the improvements of Wear OS 3 through an update, good news for owners of older watches. Even if they don’t get the latest operating system update, they are certainly having a second life, despite having an older processor.
