WhatsApp seems to be working on add reactions to messages, in a similar way to those present in other messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger, Instagram or Facebook publications.

The hint comes from WaBetaInfo and, although at the moment we have not yet been able to see how or what would these reactions be, they have detected a message that clearly specifies that “you have received a reaction”. Hopefully we will know more about it in future leaks.

Reactions on WhatsApp

The latest arrivals or upcoming WhatsApp news have little to do with the messaging in question: new colors, transfer chats from iOS to Android, multi-device mode … This could change soon, with the possible arrival of the reactions to WhatsApp.

Reactions have become relatively common in most messaging applications, as a mode of show your opinion on a specific message without having to write a new message. Generally, applications have reactions to like, love me, make me sad, annoyed, and amused, although some applications let you use any emoji.

Although we have not yet been able to see how these reactions would be on WhatsApp, in WaBetaInfo they have managed to activate at least the error message that appears when you receive a reaction to a message but your version of WhatsApp does not support them yet. Calling itself reaction, it is quite likely that it is something similar to what we have on Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

We will probably know more about it in future leaks, but for now what is clear is that reactions are on the way to WhatsApp, at least in proof form. What they will take to arrive and exactly what they will be like is still a mystery.
