SwiftKey now syncs the Windows 10 clipboard with any Android

After looking at the code, Microsoft has decided to bring the shared clipboard to its virtual keyboard, SwiftKey. With the latest version of the app, currently in beta, Items copied from Windows 10 can be received on mobile, also the other way around. The function is already available and can be activated very easily.

Microsoft has been narrowing the gap between Windows and Android by dint of not only offering a synchronization tool between both platforms, but little by little it was integrating the mobile system into the desktop one. There is the launch of Android apps in Windows 11, for example; apart from the large amount of Microsoft Android Apps Bridging Computers. One of them is SwiftKey, which has just introduced a very cool feature: the shared clipboard. We have tested it.

The function has already reached SwiftKey for Android, although for now it remains in the beta version. The shared clipboard leverages Microsoft password to sync items across platforms and through the cloud: quickly, easily and very practical. What do you usually use Android and Windows? SwiftKey Beta makes the experience easy for you.

As we said, you must have the beta of Microsoft’s virtual keyboard installed. Once updated, among the clipboard options SwiftKey offers the possibility to synchronize the items with any Windows 10 computer. No need for the mobile to be Samsung or the “Your phone” software to be used– Synchronization is suitable for any device.

To configure the shared clipboard between SwiftKey for Android and a Windows 10 computer you must do the following:

  • Install the latest version of SwiftKey beta on your Android.
  • Open the keyboard options and go to “Rich Typing.”
  • Select “Clipboard.”
  • Activate “Synchronize clipboard history” and log in with your Microsoft account, the same one you use in Windows 10.

  • Once you have the clipboard synchronization on in SwiftKey, go to the configuration of your PC.
  • Go to the clipboard settings (look for it like this) and click on “Introduction”, under “Synchronize between devices“.
  • Sign in with your Microsoft account, the same one you used on SwiftKey.
  • Once you finish configuring, you will have everything ready for the synchronization of the copied texts.

This synchronization of items is done through the Microsoft cloud, the connection is end-to-end encrypted, only the last copied text is transmitted, and everything on the clipboard is deleted after one hour of being copied.

If you want to test the clipboard synchronization between Android and Windows 10, just install the latest version of the app in beta and configure both devices as we have detailed. Under our tests, the operation has been as expected: immediate and uncomplicated.
