Soon you will be able to transfer your WhatsApp chats from Android to iPhone, according to WABetaInfo

Recently, WhatsApp had a functionality that had been expected for years, the possibility of moving chats between operating systems, although, for now, in a single direction. The feature started with some major limitations, such as the need to have a Samsung phone that appears on the “chosen” list to receive iPhone chats and arm yourself with patience, but it seems that this limitation will disappear shortly.

As WABetaInfo has hunted, a regular of the leaks on the most popular messaging app on the planet, a section within its functionalities is already reflected in the WhatsApp code. This functionality is none other than “Move chats to iOS”, that is, transfer your chats to iOS. From where? From Android, of course.

Transfer WhatsApp chats from Android to iPhone

As we say, currently there is the possibility of transferring chats between iOS and Android. It can be carried out by some latest-generation Samsung phones using the Korean company’s Smart Switch app as a bridge between Android and the backup that is generated on the iPhone. But until now, there had been no talk about the possibility that the copy could be the reverse Although WhatsApp on Android can already save chats in Google Drive, there is a cloud that would act as a bridge.

The latest beta version of WhatsApp on Android, however, already hides the code that indicates that the functionality is on the way. That WhatsApp is already working on a method so that we can take all our chat history from our Android to a new iPhone. Or at least, to an iPhone that has empty WhatsApp every time the chats (at least in the migration from iOS to Android) are not combined, but rather a clean WhatsApp installation is required.

Move To Ios

According to WABetaInfo account, in order to carry out this migration we will need to use another bridge app, the Move to iOS app that Apple launched for Android in 2015, so we would be in a case similar to the current one between the iPhone and the Samsung. At the moment there is no more information about this functionality, beyond that it already appears inside the app code but without activating and with, apparently, the entire migration interface already designed. We’ll be alert.
