This same week, in the hands of Teladoc, Movistar has announced Movistar Salud, a new telemedicine service for individuals and companies. Now the joint venture of Telefónica and Prosegur, Movistar Prosegur Alarmas, has just launched ContiGo, a out-of-home protection service.
Designed to provide personal and immediate assistance in emergencies at any time and in place, this new service it is managed directly from the mobile application by Movistar Prosegur Alarmas and has two functions: the SOS Button and the Countdown. It is priced at 3 euros per month, but as a launch promotion, Movistar offers the first six months free.
With SOS button and countdown to arrival at destination
The use cases of ContiGo can be very diverse, but basically, they are focused on any situation in which the user may feel unsafe as, for example, if you go out at night and return home to areas with little people or little light.
Its use is also suitable for the elderly and for the little ones when they leave home unaccompanied, and can be of great help for those who do sports outdoors like running, cycling or hiking.
As we mentioned at the beginning, ContiGo has two functionalities, SOS button ContiGo and Countdown ContiGo:
- SOS ContiGo button: in a dangerous situation, the user presses the ContiGo SOS Button and immediately, from the Alarm Receiving Center (ARC), the emergency protocol is activated, which consists of the recording of a video and audio clip from the moment the customer presses the button.
In addition, an operator of the CRA will contact the user to confirm the alarm and, in case of not being able to establish communication, notify the emergency services (112) and family members who have previously been designated as contact persons. If the SOS Button is activated by mistake, the user will be able to enter a deactivation code.
- Countdown ContiGo: in order to provide greater security when traveling outside the home, from the Movistar Prosegur Alarmas app, the user indicates their destination and an arrival time. In the CRA the geolocation of that person is activated and the evolution of their journey is checked.
Once the time set by the user has expired or if he has reached his destination, he must enter the deactivation code to finish the countdown. If you do not confirm your arrival at the destination, the CRA activate an emergency protocol similar to the one we have explained in the SOS Button.
The ContiGo service is free for the first six months, both for current customers and for new registrations. Once this period is over, its cost is 3 euros per user without there being a limit on the number of authorized users who can use ContiGo.
