MIUI 12: How to customize the status bar and control center on your Xiaomi

We are going to show you how you can customize the status bar and control center on your Xiaomi mobile. One of the main benefits of MIUI is that we can customize multiple sections of the system to the maximum and individually, including the shortcut and notification center.

For this tutorial we are going to use the Xiaomi Themes app, which we recommend keeping updated. The method is valid for any Xiaomi, POCO or Redmi, although if we want to have the control center we have to have a fairly up-to-date mobile, or else force the activation of the new control center.

With the new versions of MIUI came a new control center in the purest iPhone style. It is a replacement for the classic Android shortcut bar, and it is very well integrated with the Themes app. For this tutorial, we are going to use said Themes app, so we recommend you change the region of your Xiaomi to unlock as many themes as possible.

In order to change control center interface and status bar You have to follow the steps that we detail below:

  • Open the Themes app
  • In the ‘my account’ section, click on ‘customize theme’
  • Now, click on ‘status bar’
  • Choose the theme you want to apply

Clever. Performing this method step by step, only the changes in the status bar and control center will be applied, leaving the rest of the elements intact. It’s a great way to customize just this part of the system, without having to apply the theme to the rest of the interface.
