It was an open secret and Rockstar had no choice but to confirm it: the remastered version of the GTA 3 trilogy is underway and, what’s more, it will reach practically all existing platforms, including the Android and iPhone mobiles, during the first half of 2022.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary since the launch of GTA III, Rockstar has announced ‘Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy’, a “definitive” version that includes GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, with graphic and mechanical improvements adapted to current times.
New trilogy of GTA 3 for mobile
Rockstar has rescued Grand Theft Auto III from oblivion to celebrate that two decades have passed since its launch. To do this, he is preparing a remastered version of the game that includes GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas in what they have called the final version. This definitive version will bring the game to almost all existing platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile.
With this relaunch, Rockstar seeks to maintain the style of the original games, with the occasional modernization of game mechanics to adapt them to current times that. At the moment there are not too many details about what these changes will be exactly. Rockstar advises that we will hear more in the coming weeks. Of course, we will also have graphical improvements in all three titles.
While ‘GTA 3: The Trilogy’ will be released for consoles and PC before the end of the year, it will take a bit longer for mobiles. It is expected to reach the iPhone and Android mobiles during the first half of 2022. At the moment, little is known about what the game will be like on mobile.
It should be noted that the three games that will make up this final version have already been available on mobile phones for a long time: GTA 3 and GTA Vice City, with a price of 5.49 euros, and GTA San Andreas for 7.49 euros. These versions were already considered remastered and adapted for control from mobiles. We will have to see the changes with respect to the final version.
