These last days, Google has given to update both its services and its applications. We do not know if they are celebrating the announcement of the I / O that will take place on May 10 or what, but in recent weeks we have seen the expansion of the magic eraser of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 for subscriptions to Google One and, In addition, the inclusion of your VPN in all One subscriptions.
The latest is a feature that was announced a few weeks ago and is finally rolling out. It is about the possibility of having a new Google Keep widget focused on a single note on the mobile dashboard.
The latest version of Google Keep and the expected widget
Historically, and in my opinion, the Keep widget was one of the best Google offered. It allowed you to have a miniature version of the application so you didn’t have to open it every time you wanted to look at something.
You had a collection of your notes and also had a widget to perform a quick action (a note, an image or an audio). They are two quite complete functions, but the users that we take advantage of Keep to the maximum we missed something simpler. A list or a single note, separately, on the main screen.
On February 27, Google announced that they would soon launch this new version for the widget, but the days passed and it did not arrive. Until now, since with version 5.23.082.02.90 of the applicationit is already allowed to place that simple note as a widget.

To place the widget, all you have to do is execute a long press on the screen, go to the widget section of your device and navigate to ‘Keep’. Once this is done you will see three options.
The last one, that of “simple note” is the new one. Drag to the dashboard, select the Google account you have Keep on (if you don’t have more than one account on your phone, this won’t be necessary), choose the note you want to bring to the widget and you’re done.
What does this widget add? For starters, it has the Material You visual style, so the visual language is more similar to that of other Google apps and also more in tune with your phone. But the good thing is at the functionality level, since it allows you to select elements separately without having to enter Keep.
In a shopping list, for example, you can go marking items that are moved to a “completed” drawer and, if for whatever reason you want to add new ones, you just have to click on the button that appears in the lower right corner of the widget.
If the option to place this widget does not appear, I recommend that you take a look at the version of the application. To do this, go to “Settings” -> “Applications” -> “View X applications” and search for “Keep”. At the bottom you will see the version. If you are not in the version that we indicate above, you can go to play store to update manuallybut if it is completely updated and the widget still does not appear, be patient because it will appear.
