Facebook Announces New Audio Features: Its Clubhouse Clone, Integrated Podcasts, and More

Facebook just announced a series of audio functionalities that will arrive on the platform. Among them, the copy of Clubhouse that has been rumored since February, accompanied by other functions, all of them compatible with the Facebook app for mobile phones.

In addition to this new function of audio rooms, there are news related to the creation and editing of audio on Facebook, short clips, podcast and more features. A strong commitment to audio for the coming months.

Audio rooms on Facebook

Live Audio Rooms Rooms Discovery Stars Fundraising Side By Side Updated For Nrp

Facebook says it is about to start testing “Live Audio Rooms,” its first solution for audio rooms. They hope that they will be available “in summer” and will be integrated into both the Facebook app and Messenger chats. An audio room can be created in seconds from a dedicated section and, at the interface level, they will be quite similar to what we already find in Clubhouse.

Facebook wants to compete with Clubhouse and Live Audio Rooms are its main tool to do so. They will be integrated into your app and Messenger

The concept will be the same: live chat groups in which we can either listen to what they are saying or participate actively. Facebook is also working on mechanisms to transcribe audio to text in real time, to make it possible read what’s happening so much in your audio rooms as in the rest of the new audio functions.

Audio Stories and Podcast Integration

In addition to audio rooms, Facebook is working on more sound-related features. One of them is called Soundbites and Facebook describes it as short audio clips that will work in a format similar to that of the stories. We will have a dedicated section in which we will go from some Soundbites to others, in which the topics that the content creators consider will be addressed.

Podcasts Listening

Facebook has also announced the arrival of podcasts on Facebook, which will be integrated into the application so that we can reproduce them within it. It will be possible to play them in the background, so it will not be necessary to have Facebook strictly open.

Finally, Facebook indicates that it is working on a series of AI functions so that the audio recordings made from the platform are easy to edit, transcribe and edit “professionally” from the platform. These features will arrive in the coming months although they have just been officially announced.
