We already have with us a new beta of Android Auto, version 9.2 betaexactly two weeks after the last 9.1 beta and one week after the last stable update.
Those who are part of the Android Auto beta program will receive the update to Android Auto 9.2 beta directly from Google Play, although the rest can install it, as always, from its APK.
Android Auto 9.2 beta is here
New week, new version of Android Auto. It seems like yesterday when Android Auto reached version 9.0 and we already have Android Auto 9.2 available. As usual, first in betawhich will probably become a stable version next week if no serious problem is detected with it.
As always, we have proceeded to try Android Auto 9.2 Beta in search of news, to reach the usual conclusion: there are no visible changes either in the part of Android Auto or in the part of its settings on the mobile. At least, not that they are activated for all users in a massive way.
As far as we know, Google has at least one Android Auto settings redesign in the works with Material You, and the Coolwalk redesign still needs some polishing. For example, in February Google stated that “the split screen feature is in progress. The rollout of this feature is coming to vehicles at various times.” That is, everything indicates that the latest betas focus on fixing Coolwalk’s problems in the wide variety of mobiles, cars and existing screen formats.
Google hasn’t updated the Android Auto known issues list, though hopefully at least a couple of bug fixes will be included in this update. If you want to try it yourself, you can download Android Auto 9.2 beta from APKMirror. It is available for ARM, ARM64 and x86 architectures with Android 8.0 or higher and is installed just like any other APK on the mobile.
